I Found a Lump, But I Think It’s Benign

5 Things I Never Thought I’d Own

I find myself in possession of a number of items that 10 years ago I never thought I’d own.

A domestic car.  This is definitely the biggest one. Growing up on the west coast and being under 35, the thought of driving an American-made car was never even on the radar.  But it turns out they’re [...]

Summertime…and the Living’s Easy

So I’m hard at work the other day and I look under my desk to find this creature:

No help at all.  He must be resting up for his trip to Club K-9 this weekend.
Golf this morning, then dropping him off, then work, then heading to the airport for another quick trip to Seattle.

Inside Dog, Schminside Dog

Who says shih tzu’s aren’t hiking dogs?  Mochi proved the naysayers wrong this weekend on his ascent of the 2500 ft Mission Peak in Fremont.  It was warm on the trail and there was almost no tree cover.  But fur coat and all — and panting all the way — he pushed on like a [...]

Take Your Dog To Work Day 2009

Mission accomplished.

Guy’s Weekend

Well, Bryn’s off to Disneyworld for the weekend so Mochi and I will be hanging out.  Come by and visit.  I’ll probably be working and it’s usually a safe bet that he’ll be napping.

Maybe we’ll go on a hike or something.

Home for the Weekend

Heading home today for Memorial Day weekend in Seattle and deucejing’s wedding.  Unfortunately, Mochi won’t be making the trip and Dad is in Brazil so it won’t quite be a full family reunion.  But it’s always good to go home and I’m looking forward to it.
Mochi on his way to Club K-9.  Never quite grew [...]

The Hills Are Green!

But not for long.  Probably another month or so before they turn back to the familiar brown.  I guess it’s the price you pay for no rain 9 months of the year.

I know buddy, yawn it out.  March is booked.  April and May too.

Bryn and Mochi Rocking Out

We should have a caption contest for what Mochi is thinking.
“Hit the whammy bar, mom.”
“Star power READY!”
“OK, my turn.”

Endless Puppy Love — For a Price

Edgar and Nina Otto of Florida recently paid $150,000 to clone their late yellow lab.  Actually they were the winners of an auction, which means there were other people with enough disposable cash and the state-of-mind to be ready to spend $100k plus for a potential round 2 with their dog.  And it also means [...]
