Brooklyn House Reunion

Four-sixths of our college house reunited in Seattle this weekend to watch the Huskies dominate Cal in their last game of the season.  We spent some time at the Duch, tailgated on Saturday, and had a victorious good time.  And apparently we were on TV, but I didn’t see it.
We’ll have to do it again [...]

Get It In The Can

Courtesy of Ms Ronan.  Her analysis:
This ad is phenomenal. It gets more hysterical every time you watch it.
What makes this ad so amazing is the perfect casting. The match up between the line and the actor/actress delivering it is spot on. The match of the message to the visual arguably couldn’t be any better. Messages [...]

The Duchess

My favorite dive/college bar is The Duchess.  Just north of U-Village, the walls are covered in completely random decor and decades of Husky memorabilia.  They’ve got cheap beer, pool tables, lots of TVs, pop-a-shot basketball, even shuffleboard.

But within The Duchess is an example of marketing genius: their Beer Hunter’s Club.  Membership into this elite group [...]

Salisbury-Handy Wedding

Some friends from UW were married over the weekend on Mercer Island.  Congratulations to Erik and Katie and here’s to a lifetime of happiness together!  The wedding was a pretty laid back affair with the world’s quickest ceremony, buckets of beer on ice, and catered Mexican food.  The best part?  A nacho-cheese fountain a la [...]

El Seis de Mayo

This guy had one too many Coronas last night:

Honda’s “Cog” Rube Goldberg Commercial

My aunt sent me this video of beer bottle dominoes:

Which was cool and it reminded me of a Honda video from a couple years ago.  This one was done in one take with no cuts, but it took 600 tries to get it right.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day

My green shirt is in the wash but I did enjoy some green beer on Friday.  And Bryn made a great corned-beef / cabbage / potato feast on Sunday.  So we’ve done our part.

Did you know?
According to wikipedia, St. Patrick used the 3-leaf shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the pre-Christian Irish.  So that [...]

If It’s Organic It Must Be Good For Me Right?

Tonight I enjoyed some Caledonian Golden Promise, the world’s first organic beer.  Brewed in Scotland, it came into my possession during our annual beer exchange.  Highly recommended.

Best Christmas Tradition Ever

Each year, all the guys bring 12 assorted bottles of beer, and we lay them all out on the floor and take turns, draft style, selecting ones we want until they’re all gone.  This year’s selections included:
Delerium Tremens – an 8.5% alcohol Belgian brew
HeBREW Rejewvenator – “the chosen beer”
Caledonia Golden Promise Ale – the world’s [...]
