On Inertia

An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion, until acted on by some external force.

It applies to people and businesses just the same.

The things we do, and the things we don’t we do, start to fall into a predictable pattern.  And we do things a certain way because that’s the way we always do it.  Creatures of habit.

Not that routines are bad.  I definitely have mine.

But I think there’s a hidden risk in the presumed safety of routines.  Does inertia blind us from opportunities that lie just outside our normal path?
