Poo Poo Point is a popular day hike on Issaquah’s Tiger Mountain. Even though it’s been in our backyard for nearly 25 years, Dad and I had never done it until last week. And we brought Mochi along too, since we all needed to work off our Christmas treats.
Poo Poo Point is best known as the launching point for dozens of paragliders during the summer. We started at their landing area, which made for about a 4 mile roundtrip. The trail is a steady uphill slope until an open clearing at the top. More hardcore climbers can continue on to the Tiger Mountain summit, which is at least another 1000 vertical feet. From the clearing at Poo Poo Point, there was an excellent view of Mt. Rainier to the south, and Bellevue and Seattle to the west. It was windy but still a rare sunny winter day in December.
There might be some pictures on Dad’s camera.

Nick, that was a nice little climb…but why is it call “Poo Poo Point”? Too many dogs with irresponsible owners?
According to wikipedia, Poo Poo Point gets its name from the sound steam whistles would make when signaling loggers.
