I very rarely send anything out to the Shoes ‘R Us email list, partly because I’m busy, partly because I don’t want to bother people, and partly because I feel like I should have a really good offer when I do.
Such an offer came along Wednesday morning so I put together my email and blasted it out. About 30 seconds later I got the news:
Heartbreaking. I knew so little about proudgrandma(at)comcast(dot)net, only that she subscribed to the email list on Wednesday May 30th, 2007 at 8:15pm Eastern time. Was she buying shoes for herself, her grandchildren, or maybe even proudgrandpa?
Was there some particular accomplishment by a grandson or granddaughter that was the source of her pride? Maybe she was grandma to somebody famous. The world may never know.
A moment of silence for proudgrandma. Or at least her email account.
