In the pool, there are these handy lines painted or tiled on the bottom to help you keep going straight.  They keep you on the right path and there are no forks in the road.

Once you get out, things aren’t so easy.  Some people cite religion or some other over-arching philosophy as their guiding path in life.  I don’t know that I’ve found my proverbial lap-lane marker yet.

They ought to install some underwater speakers or something to keep an idle mind occupied and off these musings!
