After the NCAA March Madness is over, we always have the Bigger Dance to look forward to. The Bigger Dance is an annual tournament hosted by KJR sports radio in Seattle. But instead of 64 basketball teams vying for a national title, 64 female celebrities duke it out to see who is voted the hottest. Jessica Alba has won 3 years in a row. You fill out your bracket and join pools just like for the NCAA tourney, with one twist — the “seeds” aren’t visible until all the picks are locked.
The “games” are played one-at-a-time by listeners phoning in and voting on air for whoever they think is better looking. The woman with the most votes wins and advances to the next round. When making your picks, you have to try and guess who Seattle sports radio listeners will vote for. Not who you think would win in a fight, which resulted in some very poor choices our first year participating.
The grand prize is a trip for 2 to any sporting event in the world. World Series, Super Bowl, World Cup, Olympics, All-Star Game, you name it. It’s huge.
But we’re down to the Elite 8 and I’m ranked 8349th, so it’s not going to happen for me. Among those people beating me is Bryn, who’s in 5927th place.
Oh well, there’s always next year.
