I’ve been trying to think of examples where the spin-off is better than the original.  This idea came to me while enjoying some delicious White Cheddar Cheez-Its.  Way better than regular Cheez-Its.  Most of the examples I came up with where food, although downhill skiing is far superior to the original cross-country form.

Double Stuff Oreos / Mint Oreos vs. Regular Oreos

Honey Roasted Peanuts vs. Regular Peanuts

Frosted Cheerios vs. Regular Cheerios

Sweet Tea vs. Regular Iced Tea

Kettle Corn vs. Regular Popcorn

And then I came to the realization that the common denominator in most of these is SUGAR.  Apparently I had an unconscious love for sugary goodness that I just now became conscious of.  Probably not a good thing for someone without dental insurance.  I’m going to go floss now…

UPDATE 3/2/09

I thought of two exceptions to my “more sugar” rule.  I prefer Diet Coke to regular, and even though I’m a gum addict, it has to be sugarfree gum.  Strange, I know.
