Are you, like me, getting sick of all the bailout and stimulus talk? When are individuals and companies going to start taking responsibility for their own decisions?
What message does it send to people and companies in debt over their heads, that the government (also in debt over its head), will bail them out? Does no one else see the irony that reckless debt-spending got us into this mess, and that’s what we’re being asked to believe will pull us out, only this time from the government?
Mr Obama, does your stimilus package include anything for people whose homes have last 30% of their value but still pay their bills? No? Well feel free to use my tax money to bailout my neighbors who can’t. And while you’re at, why not give more money to for-profit corporations who are struggling because of poor management decisions?
If I signed up for a mortgage I couldn’t afford, how is that anyone’s fault but my own? If my business fails, how is that anyone’s fault but my own? Why should I expect any government assistance to make up for my bad judgment?
Please prove me wrong and show me the next trillion dollars won’t be wasted like the first bailout was. Prove to America that “government oversight” and “fiscal responsibility” aren’t oxymorons. We’ll be paying principle and interest on this stimulus for generations so please spend it wisely. And if doesn’t work, you can always just print more money right?
